Paralia Agios Georgios is one of my favorite beaches in Santorini. Together with Perivolos and Perissa, they form a long stretch of soft black pebble beach. It’s very spacious, so even when crowded, there’s room to spread out. The wind here is calmer than on some other Santorini beaches too.
However, the dark volcanic pebbles and sand absorb heat – don’t forget water shoes! Key attractions and activities include:
- Swimming and sunbathing – the water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Lots of space to spread your towel and soak up the sun!
- Beach cafes and bars – several beachfront cafes serve food, drinks and cocktails at reasonable prices. The service is very friendly.
- Water sports – Jet skiing, stand up paddling and more available from local companies along the beach, for reasonable rates.
Where to Eat 🍽️
There are 5-6 excellent beach bars and restaurants right on Paralia Agios Georgios. My favorite is Luke’s Beach Bar – fantastic Greek and international food in a laidback setting. Prices very reasonable too.
Sea Wave Tavern serves wonderful traditional Greek cuisine – their fried calamari is superb. Lovely sea view and friendly staff. Very satisfied with the service and prices here.
Where to Stay 🛏️
Most hotels in Perissa and Perivolos are within a short walk or drive from Paralia Agios Georgios beach. I recommend:
Honeymoon Beach Studios – Just a 3 minute walk to the beach! Kind hosts provide airport transfers. Modern, clean rooms with pool. Delicious homemade breakfast too.
Glykeria Mini Suites – Directly across from the beach. Chic rooms with gorgeous sea views. Complimentary breakfast and sun loungers on the beach. Extremely welcoming family-run hotel.
Parking 🅿️
There are several free public parking areas along the beach road, able to accommodate dozens of vehicles. Paid parking also available at some beach bars – approximately €5 per day. Getting dropped off is easiest as the roads are narrow.
